Spec me a wireless router

For cable, ADSL?
Any budget? Features you've got to have?

What version's the WRT54G? If it's <5, you can get third-party firmware for it which should beat anything Linksys do.

Try DD-WRT or Tomato then (Google is your friend, or take a look at www.linksysinfo.org).

Both free and, unless something's broken with the hardware, should be an improvement over the default. If the hardware itself is knackered, my suggestion would be either a WRT54GL (which is basically identical to what you've got) or a WRT300N (more or less the same router but with draft-N in place of 802.11g). The WRT54GL will run pretty much any of the third-party firmware and AFAIK the WRT300N should run most.
