Im looking to build a workstation/home office build on a budget of £1,500.00.
Im not going to use it for gaming but will use it with multiple applications open at once and for video editing.
It must also have support for 6x 1080p monitors which will not be part of the budget as I already have them.
Very new to the PC world and have never built my own before but do have people to put together and assemble/set up build for me that have.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Not very good at these but here goes;

Money left over to pick your own case or even more memory if you need it.

No GPU included in the build - Because you would be better with Nvidias Quadro range or AMDs Fire Pro range if youre not gaming.
6 screens seems excessive though, you may even be better off with the likes of matrox and utilise their multi head kit to support your monitors if you NEED 6.
I cant see why you would ever need more than 3, I manage fine with 2 ;)

Hi guys thanks for the response.
Quick question, if I have two graphics cards in SLI can I use the monitor outputs from both?
The reason for the six screens is that I have 4 on my main desk, 3x 27 inch monitors for my main work and a 37 inch tv for viewing the videos I'm editing above it. I also want to to connect the computer to my 46 inch TV for casual web browsing from the sofa. Then I just happen to have a little 22 inch monitor lying around which sits at the other end of the desk which I might as well used when I don't want so sit down at my full desk and just want to do something quickly.
Excessive it may be but it will make my life easier if it is achievable within my budget.
I may steal the processor and RAM from the first reply and swap them onto the second reply to have a bit more power as I'm hoping to keep the set-up for a while without upgrading.
Thanks so far guys I appreciate it!

I'm pretty sure nVidia cards will only support up to 2 monitors each. In Sli you can have three plus a an accessory monitor. Or run 2 from each not in Sli. If you're going to use the CPU from my spec you will need to use the motherboard as well (or another 2011 board) as the other build uses the 1155 chipset.

What he said.
The only reason I specced an Ivy Bridge is that you're not really going to notice a real difference in performance between SBE and IB.
The CPU I specced is certainly no slouch, rendering tasks will be whipped through, especially if a simple OC is applied.
I just want to stress the importance of using a GPU that is built with workstation use in mind - Particularly Nvidia's CUDA cores, as they actively assist the CPU in render tasks. AFAIK, AMD dont do this yet.
