hi guys bit of a strange one here chaps

the lad has been saving money(so far 350) as he has got into wow and frankly his laptop is just not cutting it now so he wants a proper pc/mini pc to play wow

it needs to fit in a fairly small space on a shelf under his xbox it will be connected to a tv which has a vga input and a hdmi input the hdmi does 720p as it is only a 19 inch monitor.

now price wise it needs to be pretty damn cheap lol

he wont need 100s of gig of hard drive space or anything fancy

i was thinking maybe a sugo case or similar but not sure what kind of gfx cards they can hold now days

i stopped building pcs when i got my xbox and just use laptops now so i have no idea what the latest or best budget cpu is

THANKS GUYS

hey stulid thanks very much for taking the time to do this at such an unearthly hour :)

ill have a good look at those components in the morning

maybe just me but i dont see a gfx card on there would the onboard one be plenty good enough ?

ah right should in the future the lad saved enough for a dedicated gfx card do you think the case would be able to fit a full size card (looking on the net it suggest it could) and maintain decent cooling.

its a lovely looking case last build i did was a sugo sgo2 years ago and i have stayed away now due to xbox one and lappy with dedicated gpu.

i just know when he gets this and i have to build it for him the bug will start to return lol

The length of GFX that case takes depends on the PSU size,

Q: Will the XYZ Power Supply or ZYX Video Card fit inside the Prodigy M?
Video cards at 9.5inches or less will have 200mm of power supply clearance
Video cards at 11 inches or less will have 160mm of power supply clearance
Video cards at over 11 inches will have 150mm of power supply clearance.

That Bequiet PSU is 150 x 150 x 86 so you can fit a GFX all the way up to 11+ inches in length.

But maybe depending on which GFX card he may upgrade to in the future a stronger PSU would be advisable, something like 550W to be safe.

Kaveri's out soon, possibly on the 14th, I'd suggest going for that if your son can, it may cost more than Trinity, but the IGP's a decent chunk better, along with the CPU improvements, all of which will help.
