Not a big gamer but I'm wondering if any cards exist which have HDMI on them (or can you connect with a DVI converter, if so, what about HDCP?).

It needs to be able to handle 1080p on a 42" Plasma telly.

All the Radeon 2XXX and 3XXX series do I believe. If you're not planning on gaming, I'd go with a 2600 Pro, otherwise get a 3850/70.

The good thing about these cards is that for HD movie watching purposes they also take the vast majority of load off the processor.

Any of the ATi HD range will do.

HD 2400, HD 2600, HD 38x0. They all come with HDCP compliancy, and an HDMI dongle.

I would get a 3850 as it will do all the things you do and if you fancy the odd game it will handle that well also.

HDMI is set to not take off on PC GPU's, they want to use a better method called "Display Port".

So you get by and save cash by using DVI to HDMI and it does HDCP but even thats not enforced yet AFAIK.

Just today, 1st GT with Display Port, but you really want to buy a Monitor with same connection ?.

You dont really need HDCP yet and both Blu Ray and HD DVD are not the winners, its the VCR/Betamax crap all over again.
