Spec me a..

Idd, would love to - But the way it is, its just not an option.

stand up for yourself man.

Do the right thing and take them to court.

You don't want to be trampled on all your life.

You were assaulted and just brushing it to the side like it was nothing.

Normally, I'd completely agree. However, this is a massive group of people who know who I am, roughly where I live, and are notorious for beatings and stabbings. Granted, something should be done about it, but I'm not risking things escalating further.

Ouch, sounds like a worse situation than myself.

But yeah, thats the problem - Its a catch 22. Honestly, if it'd just put myself at risk.. That'd be one thing, but something might well happen to my friends and so on also. My situation is only like this because they know who I am and where to find me. Also, even if I went to the police I'm not convinced I could get anything to stick - The only witnesses would be my friends, I could only 100% identify one of them (the one who pushed me to the floor), and I don't know their names, no cameras, etc. I live around St Pauls.

I was on Jury Service a couple of years ago. I was called up for three cases like that. All 3 cases fell apart. All three cases involved drink, and involved witnesses who in court were less than clear on what they saw.

I don't know how it affects your out of pocket costs, maybe victim support or someone can advise about all that and if you'd need to pursue a case the police know would not stick.

Thats my worry - Especially if an arrest was made, then the charges dropped, it would be almost guaranteed I'd get some sort of retaliation. As rubbish as it is, it seems best to just let it lie.

St Pauls isn't all that bad. Im white, but yeah - The two people who were beating on me were black.

Just random, I could have been anyone. I was with a group of white people, they were in a mixed group. Honestly, I don't think they even meant to hurt me as bad as they did - Not that I'm excusing their behavior in any way, but I just got very, very unlucky. About 4 of them were kicking my friend on the floor at the same time, I was too dazed to even realise this at the time, and he managed to walk off with just a swollen ankle - They must have just got one hell of a kick off to my face.

I'm actually not even sure exactly what happened myself now. As in, I remember the fight starting, and I remember it ending.. But originally I thought I'd just got pushed to the floor and kicked once. Today though my entire body is aching, it hurts to breathe, my right thumb has come out in a massive bruise etc. I'm starting to think I might of briefly lost consciousness with the first kick, and actually received a few more.

Hurts to breath? You're best getting yourself down the hospital mate, that sounds like bruised or fractured ribs!

I was thinking that earlier, but its eased off a lot now - Think you're right, must be a bit bruised. I didnt even notice it yesterday though, which makes me think they're not fractured - Will see how they are tomorrow I think. Ibuprofen seems to be doing the job for now.

One of them, or one of their friends, has been to my house before when we had a party.
