Spec me: AA battery charger

But you ultimately end up spending more money on replacing rechargeable batteries that these cheap chargers kill prematurely.
Much better to spend that little bit extra and get a decent intelligent charger like the one I suggest or even that beastie £70 one.
The cheap chargers may appear to be working fine but what you don't see is the fact that they reduce the running life of your rechargeable batteries significantly imho.
 
Indeed; since I have used my Ansmann energy 8 my 30D camera and 430EX flash unit seem to go on for days and days on one charge. Well worth it.
