I want to redeploy the motherboard and CPU in my test rig, so it'll be a new motherboard & CPU. I'm thinking of going AM5. The CPU will probably be a Ryzen 7600. I'm having difficulty with the motherboard, though. I need the standard x16 GPU slot but I also need a PCIe v4 x4 slot for a 10 Gb NIC, and the the x4 slot needs to be sufficiently distant from the x16 slot to allow for a quad slot GPU. And I don't want to spend too much. So spec me!

In the fullness of time - especially if AMD release a 7950X3D2 - it might become my main rig, but not right now.

Asus B650E-F Strix (< £270) has a 4 lane slot at the bottom of the board, with plenty of space between, but it disables the 3rd M.2 slot when used.
(PCI-E 5.0 graphics, 1x PCI-E 5.0 M.2, 2x PCI-E 4.0 M.2)

ASRock B650E PG Riptide (< £250) has a 4 lane slot at the bottom of the board, but it is only PCI-E 3.0.
(PCI-E 5.0 graphics, 1x PCI-E 5.0 M.2, 1x PCI-E 4.0 M.2, 1x PCI-E 3.0 M.2 with 2 lanes)

Asus TUF X670E PLUS (< £300) has a 4 lane slot at the bottom of the board and 4 M.2 slots, which only impact SATA when used.
(PCI-E 5.0 graphics, 1x PCI-E 5.0 M.2, 2x PCI-E 4.0 M.2, 1x PCI-E 3.0 M.2)

MSI B650 Gaming Plus ( < £200) has a 4 lane slot at the bottom of the board.
(PCI-E 4.0 graphics, 2x PCI-E 4.0 M.2)

Thanks. I'm of the view that 2x M.2 is enough: the 10 Gb NIC is faster than a SATA SSD. Reviews of the MSI board seem to be non-existent so it'll be one of the two Asus boards.
