Spec me an easy WSAD based game for the Mrs?

Evening all

Let the Mrs play Skyrim this evening and being the first time she's every played a game on PC apart from The Sims, I think the whole WSAD thing was a bit overwhelming, as well as everything that goes on

Can any recommend some good games so that she can get used to controlling a player, first person ideally?

Portal is quite easy to start with, but then it has a bit of a steep curve once the puzzles get tricky, plus no one shooting at you

WASD

Minecraft is a good suggestion. Hoard is also quite simple (at first) but is fun. It's top-down rather than first person but it might be a simple way to get into things. I'd also drop the mouse sensitivity at first.

Minecraft is the best I can think of. Put it on peaceful/creative (or just play the browser version if you don't have it) and just get her to move around and start interacting with blocks etc to get used to the most common controls (wasd, interact, number hotkeys).

Might have to get it, i like my single player games that i can lie on my bed with a controller!!

Of course it does, and it was built for the controller.

It pllays unbelievably good with a controller on the PC, you just wont ever know till you try it.

I agree with this. Portal would be a good choice but then the puzzles or the need to be quick on the controls ramps up quite quickly after a while, but you can see how she gets on. I think certainly the nobody shooting at you would be a good start.

Nobody has yet suggested World of Warcraft? Most hand-holding you'll ever get in an MMO. Only trouble is if she gets a guild and likes it, you'll end up buying a 2nd PC for her.

Alternatively, Fable 3 is reasonably fun, humourous, and features many entertaining things to do other than the main quest chain. It's also not actually possible to die in it!

This. Always amazes me how people keep saying that aiming the bow is difficult using the pad.

Cheers for the suggestions, apart from the Pad for Skyrim, i'm a high and mighty PC gamer through and through, FPS' will be played with Mouse + Kb
