spec me an energy efficient home server

all i need is something that is gonna be low on the energy bills compact and is able to stream information to at least 4 devices with no interuptions...and no need for a hdd as they will be external and i have a variety of others for the internal os, was thinking of ubuntu ... i was thinking of the asus eee box but it dosent seem to do well on displaying hd content so im worried if it could stream to 4 different devices using standard content ??

As for being able to get the data to 4 devices at once, I'm not sure, I've not looked into it as I'd only be using one device to get the media at once.

well currently im using a pentium 4 at 1.8ghz with a 60gig internal and 700mb ram and a 1 tb + 250 gb external, this acts as a streaming device for my ps3 360 and a couple of laptops, with 4 people using it at max the asus eee box seems to be the way but...wether or not itll keep up with the pace is another thing entirely ! i am liking your idea though it sounds like a plan of action!

i didnt bother with nlite, i just went through most things myself as i didnt have the internet at the time i think i need a gig minimum as ive noticed some stuttering lately its either that or the o2 box just is not handling the data transfer rates.... was using a linksys wrt54g before
