As title can someone spec me an FX chip and mono please. Preferably atx with good xfire support for my vtx,3d 7870s. Looking at about 160-180 for both

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-D3 AMD 990FX that supports dual p ay 16x/16x would that still be limited by cpu??? going by reviews on the net a 1090t wont bottleneck them

so what would the non intel fan boys recommend??? amd said a 1090t or fx 4100/4300 minimum fpr crossfire with the 2 cards minimum and a 6100/6300 recommended, yet eceryone says any amd inc the 6350 will bottleneck the 2 cards. bearing in mind my a10 5800k only botlenecks the 2 cards at about 15-20% on 16x/4x.

what i want is a definitive answer without the fanboys telling me intel is only way to go

that should read 8350, bearing in mind on my old cpu, phenom x4 970 which i gave to a friend runs both 7870's with 100% usage on both cards and 104 fps in sleeping dogs,

i almost get the feeling that everyone works for intel and are getting a cut from every sale as an old cpu and mobo prove there is no bottleneck yet people INSIST that there is

the gigabyte board i posted earlier was 16x/16x. i was looking at the 8350 but was advised to get the 6300 as it was better value for what i was using it for

Nothing I said was Intel biased, it was truthful, unless of course a stock i5 2500k is an AMD CPU now. So stick the fanboy crap as far as it'll go down yourself.

You don't have a 7870 Crossfire to bottleneck it by saving a couple of quid on an AMD set up, I bottlenecked a 6870 Crossfire with a 1055T depending on the game.

Also, I didn't realise the FX6300 was the sole AMD CPU, and mentioning the FX6300 would bottleneck a 7870 Crossfire was giving a blanket statement of every AMD CPU.

AMD aren't going to tell you "To get the best out of your GPU set up, use our competitors CPU"

Pitiful.

People try to help you, tell you how it is, you call them Intel fanboys? Grow up.

Before Bulldozer came out, in 2011. I probably ran of of the fastest AMD CPU set ups AM3 wise on these boards 24/7.

only reason i have xfire 7870's is i won my second one in a comp and tbh its been more hassle than its worth, 1st i tried to use it to be told, my old phenom was useless along with the second hand 1090t. so i gave away the phenom and sold the 1090t. i stupidly bought the a10 5800k after thinking i had sold the 2 7870's on ebay ( which i will never use again ) and that turned out to be a pile of ****e, so ive decided to put the a10 and mobo into storage, or preferably the bin but what really ****es me off is when, and it happens frequently on here and other forums, is people say spec me and amd build and its full of buy an i5 or go intel. christ sake if they or me wanted to go intel we would have said spec me an intel. why cant people understand if someone asks for an amd build thats what they want.

Except it's not. I'm gaming here on a 7850 with a 8320 piledriver. 1080p, eyecandy turned up and I'm not experiencing any slowdown. Even in games like Skyrim which aren't supposed to run well at all on AMD. Don't believe the Hype.

I don't know how a bottleneck works exactly or how poor the a10 is at gaming but I do know that I can run far cry 3 at ultra settings at 60fps with very sync on, and about 89-96 with very sync turned off. GPU usage is only about 98% on one gpu and mid 50's on the other.

Now there may well he a heavy bottleneck but running latest games fc3 hitman absolution etc at the very highest settings and achieving close on 100 fps in each game is pretty good to me. Still decided to upgrade bet I'm disappointed from the upgrade.

I honestly can't see me gaining upwards of 50 fps in these games like some claim and the even if I did would I notice them????.

I think the time I would notice may not be for a couple of years by which time I dare say there will be newer better hardware anyways

Would love to see you in Shogun 2 then with all the settings turned up and having 4 players per side with max unit count set on....

That's fine if I played that game but if you read I will only be playing car Sims with the occasional blast of new games single player.

Also I never play online with pc xbox exclusively there for me

Well hopefully this will keep me going till april/may time when I should be in a position to go a full Intel building for myself and then pass on this one to my oldest son.

Yes and no its my daughters birthday in couple weeks time and she has asked for a pc for her room so I thought she could have the a10 as all she will be doing is movies and Internet Facebook games etc. And I think my son would look at me as if I was a wierdo if I handed him the a10 tbh.

So next payday wee cheap case and she's good Togo as I have memory hard drives and psu all spare

Also on a side note I'm considering selling the 2 gfx cards and going a single card route, how much I get for them will all depend on how much I get for them but if I get enough for a 7950/7970 then all be happy with that
