spec me an HID KIT ?

We had no idea the Passat had projectors. If it did all you needed to do was say and nobody would have bothered with mentioning the crap retrofit stuff as a good HID kit will be fine in your car.

Wht not buy a car with a proper setup in the first instance???

Curiously are you going to manually keep adjusting the height of your headlights to keep them level so as not to dazzle after road users?

I've seen the merits of a HID setup and for the last 5 cars I've owned I have spec'ed them, may I suggest all those above do the same for their next car purchase as opposed to fitting these 'Zenon' kits?

Self levelling in factory HID's are there to prevent dazzle to oncoming road users by numpties who load the car up or tow a trailer and forget to adjust the light angle.

They do not adjust quickly enough to level on the fly for dips in the road surface.

So please dont trash my thread with an arguement.

Thankyou.

I say it's been trashed good and proper.

I bought some cheap ones from ebay, one went really dim after about month. I don't think the ballast was getting enough voltage and probably needed a hid loom with relay.
I'm not sure if it was the cars fault or the cheap hid kit.

Most people will disagree with you there. They are wrong of course. Can you imagine the servo speed and power needed to react to every undulation on the road? :D

but there are lots of people who seem incapable of adjusting their headlights when carrying passengers in the back.
therefore, the self-levelling system is quite good
