Spec me an intersting single player game to play on Sunday :)

Have the house to myself so will be having myself a bit of me time tomorrow :)

Basically I want a single player game for Sunday. I mainly like FPS games but I am open to suggestions.

Played among others:

HL2+episodes
Potal
Crysis+Warhead
Farcry (not the second though I hear its pants)
BF2
BC2
Quake - Quake 4
Doom - 3

I know Mass Effect will come up but the demo of ME2 didn't really do it for me... Also is KOTOR similar? Liked the look of that but never had the time.

Ooooh and played Duke Nukem 3D through the last couple of evenings, why don't they make like that anymore?? :cool:
 
Its an oldie but Prey is good especially if youre fond of doom 3.

More recently, Singularity has been received well and is based on the ut3 engine so the graphics are brilliant.

If you didn't like ME2 then KOTOR definitely won't do it for you. Personally I think its worth giving ME1 and 2 more time tho - ME1 didn't really grab me at first but once I'd gotten past the first few bits I really started to enjoy it.

Farcry2 SP is a bit mixed... the first 2 hours is really meh and the last hour or so of the game is pretty poor but the middle section is actually quite good if you can ignore the constantly repopulating check points, malaria, silly weapon degredation, malaria, silly mission layout that makes you criss-cross the map 3 times pointlessly just to emphasise how annoying the repopulating check points is and malaria. With just a few tweaks it would actually make a really good game :(

If you've never played it the first Deus Ex might be interesting tho personally I can't deal with the graphics now :(

Not that I didn't like ME2 (from the demo), it just didn't grab me. FC2, well the first was epic, one of my favourite games of all time but I did read about the problems of 2...

Loved Deus Ex myself :) Never got round to Invisible War because of the panning it took on the forums. Not a terrible game by all accounts

Did you have a go at ME1 also? They're quite different games, 1 and 2.
 
Tribes: Vengeance. Came out aroudn the same time as HL2 so should be very cheap if you can find it. Such a great (and overlooked) game. Jet packs, skiing, grapple hooks and a nice twisting story.

I take it you meant portal in the original post and not postal right as I read it? xD both interesting games in their own right though.
