Spec me an iPod kit for my car

Thanks for the update! A quick question, do you have full control from the head unit, another poster said they could only access 99 tracks (I guess this is because it's the limit of what a standards compliant CD Audio can support)? Also, do they supply the tool to remove the head unit?

You always have full control from the iPod. The only thing you can do with the headunit is change track forward/backwards, change volume, change playlist.

They do not supply the tool to remove the headunit, but it's basically an allen key with a star shaped head so can be bought very cheap at homebase etc. The size you need is a T20.

How's everyone doing on the iphone car kit front.

I too am looking to hook mine up. it's a Golf 2.0 TDi, company car so I gotta be carefull with what i do. I guess, after a few searches it'll be the RCD 300 player.

Be careful, not all models of the 300 have an AUX in on the front, ours doesn't (hence why I'm looking at the ipod integration method outlined above).
