Right moving into new student digs next week and need a new ISP.

Was with Tiscali last year but wasn't impressed and am struggling to find anything that really takes me fancy.

Looking for a fast as possible as afair bit of gaming, downloading etc with 4 lads all using it at the same time.

Need a big capacity obviously limit wise.

Any free equipment is a bonus but not really needed

Got a BT line installed and live already so would prefer to get it down there

Obviously being students makes us cheap so the cheaper the better but obviously if its value for moeny we can go a bit more expensive.

Is it worth getting one of these phone'/tv/broadband packages ?

Don't need a phone but does it work out cheaper ?

thanks a lot for any help or advice

stay away from big sellers like bt, the idea of unlimited sounds great but its not as what U get is serious caps, depending on *** area I'd say cable but U have a bt line so any enta. Best idea would be sky unlimited really for the 3 for £26 & up it to *** max 16mb with unlimited dl. Next option would be aol (GRRRRR) & a topuptv box from thompson for 100 quid.

I'm with BT at the mo & vision is well crap so dont go there as its still not nice.

aol (possibly)
BT (If U like unlimited with caps, port 80 bit torrent)
Sky LLU (up to 16mb)
enta resellers like ukonline or adsl24

In our student house we have virgin, I know you wanted to use your phone line but for £20 a month we get a 2 Meg line (awaits slating  ) and TV package, and the on demand function is great :D !

We looked at getting Sky, but when you factor in the cost of Sky TV and the BT line rental it just wasn't worth it even though they offer a faster connection, although they seem to be doing better offers now.

I'd ask your landlord if they mind have a cable wall box and go from there.

Hi virgin have a offer 10 pound a month for 2meg cable no home phone required check out there site. 100min mob mins 10pounds not bad for students eh?

Yep I would go for BE they are one the best ISP's around. Stay clear from virgin as they cap you to 5MB after you download 3GB and I guess students do a lot of downloading. Plus during peak time the speeds are bad.
