Well my 30GB ipod has lasted me well over 2 years now and it just died, not from hardware failure but from my arse squashing the screen over the floor. :(

So I need a replacement pronto! The player in question needs to be at least 20GB, I am tempted just to buy another iPod as I love the interface and I can plug it into my car stereo plus with a good set of headphones it sounded great.

So I am very tempted just to buy another iPod but is there anything better out there for the same money? Looking to spend no more that about 150 notes. :)

Well I'm interested to see what else there is out there. Before I bought my iPod I was looking at the iAudio range which looked pretty good but at the time they were more expensive.

I have been looking at prices of those and I see the 80GB can be had for £140 delivered which is quite hard to beat for the price in terms of capacity and battery life etc.

I've not heard a sony before shame I don't know someone with oen to see f I can tell the difference. My iPod with CX300's always sounded pretty crisp and clear to me though.

Mine is an NW-E015 and the only reason I want a new one is because this one doesn't have a built in FM radio. I like to listen to Moyles when walking to college :p

i cant put up with the quality of the audio on the ipod tbh :p
After hearing a sony it pales in comparison

I know, the sound quality is rubbish compared to my Sony NWA-800 but the software is shocking. I have some new sennheiser headphones which makes the ipod sound a bit better and most of the time its hooked up to my car stereo anyway

I was tempted to switch to a Sony when my iPod Touch randomly wiped itself, but I had most of the stuff backed up and just had to retag lots of stuff and put it back on. :o

The only thing that stopped me from switching was that I'm so used to the iPod interface (and the touch screen) so the SQ was a moot point.

You want the 828 as pointed out in the other thread as it comes with the free bluetooth headphones and is significantly cheaper :)
The 829 can be had for £189 and is 16gb compared to the 8gb of the 828, no it doesn't have the headphones, but imo they're fugly and I wouldn't be caught dead wearing them.
but the software is shocking.
They got rid of sonicstage yonks ago.

i know but my NWA-800 will only use that and my whole library of 10k songs is on itunes anyway, even before i had an ipod i used itunes, i find it much easier than mess around with dragging and dropping and having to remove and then add an mp3 if i edit the tag info

~£189 is just too expensive for a 16gb bluetooth player that doesnt come with bluetooth. headphones. they'd have you right strung up if you'd be willing to pay that. you could get an 8gb D2 + 8gb SD Card for £151. or how about getting it with a 16gb card for £174 and a nice 24gb of storage.
