Spec me an ST

Mine is showing 20.4 at the minute.

And the choice depends, if you like and want red leather seats, buy a 500, if you can do with black leather seats buy a 3.

thats good to know, i like the face lift much more. but, do i like it enough to spend the extra? would it be worth saving a few qwid and opting for an earlier model ?

I dont really like the Red Leather in all honesty, nor do i like the stripes, but i think they can be removed. ?

If you don't like the stripes or the red leather, the ST500 is a bit pointless. IMO the facelift looks much better, well worth the extra few hundred.

I'm not a huge fan of the facelifts, and the red leather really did it for me - but as Janesy said; you really are paying a premium for that red leather and some stripes.

It will remain a bit of a joke n the ST as well, let alone the ST500.

Why 'let alone' the ST500?

Ive got an ST with Mountune and it does about 18-22mpg driving relatively normally, 25 on a normal motorway run and 30mpg on a sunday crawl motorway run. Thats about £250 miles to a tank normal driving, 300-320 out of a tank if your doing motorway.

Tax is £225 for a year at the moment.

It aint gonna be economical and with petrol going up it cost me £65 to fill the other day with super unleaded!

If your looking to save money an ST is definately not going to help you, however it will put a smile on your face all the time you arent spending in the petrol station!

Hrm, perhaps its your map, or something else is wrong, but I've managed 38MPG on a longish eco-drive, and 32MPG on a normal motorway run including some town driving either end, as well as some blats up to three figures.

Its worth mentioning, that before I had my 'egged' wheel replaced, those figures were about 5MPG less.

ive certainly seen 35mpg on a long motorway run but you got to have the patience to do it and be pretty leniant with the accelerator but ive never had mine do much over 25mpg on a tank doing normal day to day driving. However thats possibly more the short drives I do than anything else.

I dont have any major issue with this, the point being the ST aint a tree hugger or a motor thats going to save you money.

It eats petrol and it eats tyres pretty sharp as well and whichever chump wins the election is certainly gonna sting you at some point for more tax as well.

As long as you go in to it woth your eyes open you wont be surprised or disapointed!

I required no patience to achieve 32MPG and it was hardly the perfect journey;

Through Southampton at 8am, up the A3, stuck in traffic for half hour at Hindhead, blast at 90ish between Hindhead and Guildford, continue up onto the M25 - 80MPH with plenty of overtaking until ~Junction 16 where there is 50 til my exit at jct19, where its pretty much town driving until the M1, three figure stint up the M1 for one juction, and a further 2-3 miles of town driving to my destination. Same on the way back, except with heavier traffic, but a heavier right foot on the clear bits due to wanting to get home :)

Bluefin stage one.

With all that in mind, locally, I only average around 19-20MPG but that figure may change now I've had that wheel changed.

I recently sold my 06 PB ST-3, I had it for a year and a half, then sold it for 1100 quid less than I paid for it... it was in amazing condition. They're brilliant cars, I miss mine... I wish I could have kept it! :(
