Spec me an upgrade (please :D)

Hi,

Got a bit of money to spend, decided to use it on an upgrade but i'm not sure where to go with it and i'd really appreciate some advice. Was thinking about an SSD or another HDD in raid 0 but i'm not experienced in those things. Don't think crossfire would be a good option 'cause my mobo only does 8x i think.

Here is my current build which I use for gaming:

i5 2500k @ 4.7Ghz
2GB Radeon 6950
Asus P8P67 Pro
4GB Corsair XMS 3 1600MHz
Samsung F3 1TB 7200rpm HDD
650W PSU

Don't think crossfire would be a good option 'cause my mobo only does 8x i think.

The performance difference between 16X/16X and 8X/8X is effectively zero, for example - http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/08/23/gtx_480_sli_pcie_bandwidth_perf_x16x16_vs_x8x8

I wouldnt do a HDD RAID setup, but a SSD sounds like a good idea.

ssd with the 1tb drive as a data drive sounds like a decent plan.

have you tried clocking your 6950 ?

SSD is the way to go, stick Windows 7 and 1 or 2 most played games/apps on it, use the 1TB for everything else.

thanks for the replies guys, didn't know that about 16X/16X and 8X/8X and yeah my 6950 is actually flashed with the 6970 bios so I dunno how that's gonna work crossfire wise.
