Spec me an upgrade

Hiya guys and gals, not been around for a while and I need a bit of help - I'm about twelve months out of date on PC specs and could do with a few pointers.

My venerable Sempron 3000+ is on its last legs and I've a few quid (roughly £200 give or take) knocking around to replace its guts. Obviously none of the existing bits will be compatable with any sort of upgrade so I'm looking for a new motherboard, processor and memory.

I've already got a Corsair HX520W, WD5000AAKS and a Lite On 20A1S to carry across to the new system.

I'd previously spec'ed up an E2140, Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R, OCZ 2Gb PC2-6400 and Tuniq Tower but this was some time ago.

Not too worried about onboard graphics or a cheap placeholder graphics card at this point as I don't have the time to game currently and I can always upgrade this at a later date.

Any suggestions?

The extra cache doesn't seem to make too much of a difference in most applications, there are some where it would be of benefit but for the majority of uses I'd just pocket the cash saved. :)

Yeah, I would go with this too. A great setup for the cost.

None that i've noticed with my friends ds3l and my ds3r. We have almost identical setups and they both provide stable overclocks and general use for the e21xx series without a problem..

The main differences are in bios features such as the backup facility (gigabyte's name for this eludes my memory) and, ultimately, PRICE.
