No limits, but don't get the best of the best. Has to be cost effective.

I'll be upgrading the following components:

i5 3570k
Asrock Z77 Extreme4 M Intel Z77
Corsair Vengeance (16GB)
XFX 850 XXX

I'm also replacing my Lian Li PC-A04B for a Corsair 750D and going the watercooling route as I want SILENCE.

My new build has to be absolutely whisper quite at all times.

So, any suggestions? Note, I'm keeping my GPU... 980 ti.

^^1. Your processor should keep up with modern games for a while yet. I'd keep the money aside for the release of big Pascal/ Polaris and upgrade the 980ti. That'd likely provide you with a bigger performance boost than upgrading your CPU.

Yea, CPU is clocked at 4.2Ghz

I do want a bigger board and a bigger case for better cooling.

Or maybe just a bigger case? Problem is, it will look very silly having a matx mobo in a 750D

How about one of the compartmentalised cases then? The Antec P50 can take a pair of 240mm rads, the Fractal Design Node 804 looks to have several possibilities, there's also the Phanteks Evolv M-atx which is also a very good case. Plenty of cases to choose from but I really wouldn't be changing your cpu and mobo anytime soon.
