Spec me and SSD please

Hi all,

Just looking for some opinions... What's the best SSD to go for with:

- Read and write speeds of over 500Mb/s
- 480GB - 512GB storage
- Budget of around £200-£230

Anybody have a drive that matches the above criteria and what do you think of it? :)

Could maybe stretch the budget if it will be worth it, would you say the samsung would be best then?

Speed on the M500 is a bit rubbish
 
yeah the Samsung has best speeds,you wouldn't notice the crucials slightly slower speeds though

you get 20gb more with the Samsung aswell,so yeah if you can stretch to it id pick that if not the crucial is a good drive too
 
+1 for Samsung. Excellent reliability with excellent performance. Combines the best from everywhere.
 
Well I have my Samsung 840 EVO :D

Got a question though, why is the samsung software, and any other software, reporting crazy speeds that I surely can't be getting?

Samsung Magician is also reporting something over 1000MB/sec
 
you can disable it to see the true speeds of the drive

all rapid mode does is setup a ram disk and reads/writes to the ram hence the crazy speeds
