Hey i have been looking at the Agility 3 240GB SATA III it's currently going for £131 .. so that's my budget, Is this a good ssd? i have never bought one before and i just wanted a bit of feedback off others if possible or any recommendations pls,Many thx ;)

i've never owned an SSD before either and i've been casually looking around these forums recently.....and there seems to be nothing but tales of woe when it comes to OCZ drives. obviously unhappy people tend to be a lot more vocal - i'm sure there are happy OCZ users out there but i'm still totally put off them.

samsung seem to the popular choice at the moment. 9 quid over budget though but you do get 10GB more for that cash.

I use an Agility 3 and had 0 problems, I have had 2 agility 3 in raid 0 with 0 problems, maybe lucky I guess, am upgrading to one 128gb 830 though, 830's can still be found and are cheaper than the 840 pro by quite a bit so that's why I got the 830.

its not a very reliable ssd compared to the newer samsungs and crucial m4,intel ssd's are reliable also

its cheap because it uses cheaper asynchronous nand, the others i mentioned use better performing (as the drive fills up) synchronous nand

I've only ever bought OCZ so I can't say how they compare to other SSDs but I've never had a problem with them in the year I've been using them. I've got two running in stripe on my main box and a one in my Macbook Pro.

While I'm a SSD virgin I have to say the Crucial 250 gig one I have is very fast just a few seconds to boot from a standing start and almost instant from full standby.

gotta love my OCZ vertex 3, recommend vertex line due to previous research i did before buying my SSD recently
