Fostex MK3 Planar Magnetic Headphones with the SMSL M3 DAC/AMP. Just under £200 but you'll want the Shure 1540 pads to put on the Fostex headphones.

They are very good for both gaming and music.

FiiO E10k and Sony MDR-1A and £20 change

I don't think the SMSL M3 has enough power to drive the Fostex MK3s, they are extremely power hungry headphones.

SMSL M3 has more than enough juice. The image above is my setup despite me just using the M3 as a DAC, it was more than good enough, even on quiet songs.

Can't speak for what it would be like with 600ohms though

It's not the impedance, planars tend to have a low impedance anyway, it's the sensitivity. The M3 may be able to get them fairly loud but I find it very unlikely it can provide enough power for them to sound their best, it's accepted by most people that they require a strong amp in order to work optimally.

Sonys and dac arrived today. Great sound! The guys could not believe the difference with them connected to the PC and then with the dac...

Lovely sound. Also the guy using them will do for extended periods whilst he works so the fact that they are soooo comfortable is a real winner.

Yeah, they are stupidly comfortable, I wear mine for hours on end.
