Anyway to increase yer budget yer going to struggle to get all that for 300. Would be possible with amd build but yer limiting yer gpu.

£294.90 Never included shipping as yer post count you can get free or from location you can get the bus

The motherboard is AM3+ so could get bully at later date (No point tbh tho). I would advise you save a little more tho and get an intel system. The cpu can be clocked easy enough to 3.7-8 on stock cooler anymore would need aftermarket.

This should run BF3 ok

Why don't you keep your Q6600. Find a decent board with overclocking capabilities. Second hand for £30. Get a third party cooler. £20. Overclock it to anything past 3.2Ghz.

Depending on your ram. Get some second hand PC2-6400 stuff for £30 (4GB)

Keep your HDD, if it's sata... it'll be fine.

Then all you need to splash out on is a fancy new GPU. Get the best you can afford. £200 left.... so a 6950 would fit in the budget nicely. That will be a lot better for BF3 than spending £300 on a whole new range of kit.

Upgrade the rest when you can afford it. The GPU will be fine to swap into a new build obviously. Your PSU is obviously fine also.

If your current mobo is upto the job of overclocking... then quids in.

mobo is ok tbh, its an asus thing that allows overclocking, its got o/b hdmi and stuff but i did have it at 3.3 stable for a while

i need to clean it out, as its full of dust, then ill have a go at getting a stable clock and then look for a half decent gpu for £150

thanks

I agree, overclock your cpu as a Q6600 is still decent and use a £20-30 cooler like Gelid Tranquillo is £23.99 this week yet very good.

As for gfx card this is a good one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-247-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1341 comes with new Batman game too which is out next Friday. :) (a 6950 2gb is best bet though if you want to use high amounts of AA in games)
