Spec me: bulk thermal compound

I find myself using a lot of thermal paste testing parts and moving things around. Up until now I save on good stuff by using cheap silicon grease stuff if it's a temporary mounting. If I'm just checking a CPU works etc it does me fine.

But then if the parts work I have to break it down, clean up and reapply good paste. So, I'm looking to buy some cheap but serviceable compound which i can use on simpler builds and temporary stuff.

Had a look on OcUK but I'm not sure which pastes will be a bit old and so a risky buy. Ideally non conductive and not abrasive.

Don't need tons, just want more than the usual 2-3g tube so I can avoid reordering this year. What do you recommend good people?

Mx2 or mx4 - don't perform much worse than the"top" pastes, but have good longevity both when applied or left in the tube for months. 20g should last for a while

The MX-4 is much cheaper at 90p per gram so for testing is probably better. But for long term use Kyonaut would be my go to but is £1.56 per gram. Im not sure if MX-4 is conductive but Kyonaut isn't so if also great for GPU's

Mx4 isn't conductive

Get MX-4 or Noctua NH-H1.

Don't recommend Kryonaut based on recent experiences with it being abrasive.
