Hi im looking for a really nihilistic film. Either an actiony one in which the "good side" seriously get their asses handed to them by the end (yes more even than in Empire Strikes back :p) or some kind of weird thriller a bit like Fallen.

But i want despair lots of it :D

ta much

the one with Donald Sutherland and Nimoy? Yeah that was a good un :D they dont make em like that anymore

Ill give my opinion on Irréversible & Seul contre tous tomorrow :D

From the top of my head, some nihilist films I can think of are:

Observe and Report
Funny Games
Le Conseguenze Dell'Amor
Lonesome Jim

probably seen many of these but:

Requiem for a dream; horrible.

most depressing film ever...

two best war films ever, also very very bleak:
Apocalypse Now
Full Metal Jacket

others:

Lord of War (the protagonist is the bad guy and he wins, kinda..."They say 'evil will prevail when good men fail to act'...what they should say is 'evil will prevail' ")

The Thing
American History X
Seven
There Will Be Blood
Dead Man Walking
The Machinist

I only find them depressing as I realise i have no idea what is going on!
They take a few watches and a lot of deliberation, but you get them in the end.

Mulholland Drive especially is one of my favourite films, I love David Lynch. I wasn't so impressed with Inland Empire though, that really was a bit 'out there'.
