Spec me desolation and despair

Hi im looking for a really nihilistic film. Either an actiony one in which the "good side" seriously get their asses handed to them by the end (yes more even than in Empire Strikes back

) or some kind of weird thriller a bit like Fallen.

But i want despair lots of it

Would you consider an older film like the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers? I think it does despair rather well.

The Mist based on a Steven King novel. I think the DVD has a black and white/sepia cut of the movie which is supposed to make it even more sppoky.

They take a few watches and a lot of deliberation, but you get them in the end.

Mulholland Drive especially is one of my favourite films, I love David Lynch. I wasn't so impressed with Inland Empire though, that really was a bit 'out there'.

thats pretty down, nothing more desolate and depressing than Sheffield, with or without Nukes.
