thats all in your head mate.. and it doesnt turn off ? and second why do you lift of the mouse pad? i barely move my mouse 1cm and my mouse mat is 20X30cm
It must be 'in a lot of people's heads' then eh ...I agree with him, I have used and indeed own many corded and cordless mice. I know exactly what he means when he says it somehow feels less connected, I don't really know how to describe it exactly and I can't quite put my finger on what it is (no pun intended) but I agree with him 100%, I also feel 'less connected' to the cursor somehow, with a wireless mouse. I am using a wireless Logitech VX Revolution right now as I type this on my laptop. I've been using it all week as I'm away from home at the moment, it's a really nice mouse, and It sure feels a lot better and more connected than many wireless mice I've used, but it still isn't quite as 'immediate' as a wired mouse. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but it just isn't. I also tend to lift my mouse of the pad a lot, you may not, but some people do, thus different mice suite different people.
I use a Razer Deathadder on my main machine/gaming machine. Which is really very nice, I used an MX 518 for several years before, I still have it but I prefer the shape of the Razer. I decided to buy it as I found I far preferred the shape of the Microsoft Intellimouse 3 I use on a other machine I have, and as the Razer is so similar in shape I figured I'd get on with it a bit better than the Logitech, which to be honest, never quite sat 'right' in my hand, although it's a great mouse and is pretty well bombproof, I swear you could use it as a morning-star if you so choose and it still wouldn't break
In short, both the Razer Deathadder and the Logitech MX 518 are great mice and I would recommend either, it's really down to which shape you prefer. I also had a Razer Diamondback, years ago, when they first came out, I had some realiability issues with that but the shape was nice, nicer than the Logitech to my smaller hands but not as nice as the Microsoft/Deathadder shape.
If you don't need/wan't such high sensitivity as these gaming offer, then I would say the good old Microsoft Intellimouse 3 is the best you can get, I would use it for gaming too as I still slightly prefer it's shape to the Deathadder, they are very similar but the DA is just a bit bulkier and thicker and I prefer the MS, alas it isn't quite sensitive enough for my tastes when gaming.
As for keyboards, well that's another personal preference thing really. I use a Saitek Eclispse II, I really like it, good solid feel and quite a nice typing action (ain't no IBM Model M though). I also have a MS Comfort Curve 2000 on another machine, that's a decent keyboard too, although I don't personally get on so well with the lower profile keys and the slightly curved design. I find the left shift button gets cramped into a tiny little key due to the curve of the board, and that annoys me, also the typing action on the CC 2000 is a bit soft and short of stroke for my tastes. Whatever floats your boat though.
