Spec me hip hop

I'm after some hip hop in the vein of either early 90s hip hop like Nas, Notorious etc or something more up to date like Sage Francis.

None of this 50 Cent etc bull.

Any recommendations?

Immortal Technique and Paris are worth a listen imo. Very political and lyrical, they remind me of early Nas (Illmatic)

Haha yeah, I saw that and didn't read much when I saw the first couple of posts.

I'm really looking for stuff thats a bit more chilled, wu tang etc are a bit too 'aggressive' if that makes any sense.

Also been enjoying Felt 2 and Felt 3. Both great records. Felt 3 is produced by Aesop Rock, who is also awesome in his own right.

I only recently discovered K'naan (check out "Take a Minute") and I'd really recommend him. Also, K-OS (check out "I wish I knew Natalie Portman".

Out of interest, I wonder why OcUK doesn't have many hip-hop discussions?
