Spec me: laptop for linux distro. Coding, browsing, HD video watching

Hi,

I'm completely lost in the world of laptops and in need of help. I'm after something which I will use as a secondary computer (to my desktop) and which I will use as a linux machine. I will mostly be using it for coding and browsing plus a litttle light photo editing. The ability to play 720p/1080p videos would be ideal. I want something reasonably small (which hopefully means light), so ~13" screen size is plenty.

My max budget is ~£350. I'm open to the idea of refurbished laptops. Thanks.

At £349 is this considered a decent spec for the price (given it's on sale)?

looks ok to me, id plump for more ram though personally as swap on a laptop hdd really slows things down, not sure if that dell system is upgradeable or not
