Spec me: motorised time lapse mount

Well in the case of the DSLR it can often be just as effective to just shoot it very wide (assuming your lens is wide and sharp enough) and then just cropping the frames in post to give the movement? Saves you setting up dollies and you can just use a tripod. Might be worth looking into just to start you off, then if you find you want some more movement options then look into the other options.

You could always try to make your own using something like a cheap Celestron motor drive. Your end creation may not be pretty but I can't imagine it would be too difficult to make something that does the job cheaply. Off the top of my head you could look into getting an old belt drive turntable and cannibalising it and using the telescope motor drive to attach the turntable belt to. There's many possibilities to create something yourself with that drive as a starting point.

Came across something similar on the net, I don't mind making something myself but its just the time to do the darn thing.

For a Go-Pro I use an Ikea 1hr egg-timer (ORDNING) which works amazingly well.

Beaten like a ginger step child, after DJ_Switch's post I googled diy mounts and came across this video

and found Ikea selling the egg timer for £5.75, bloody bargain! Take me couple of mins to setup too. OCUK to the rescue again ;)

Ksantis idea is just not the same.. It looks nothing like a motorised slider movement.. There is no parallax, a motorised slider is far better...There are very decent konovo motorised sliders.. If you are serious however, check out Kessler or PBlooms pocket dolly!!

Great product but at nearly £750 it's way over my budget. its something I'd like to save for in the future.

It's a shame there's not a beefed up version of the Ikea egg timer. The Radian uses too much tech pushing the price beyond the "average" user who just wants to shoot a few time lapse shots on an SLR, where as a £20 big egg timer would sell much better I think, again for someone who doesn't want to spend £100-£10,000 on full motion iphone connected computer controlled dolly rigs etc :D
