Hi all,

Well after installing Hitman Blood Money I had a nice popup saying low on disk space so ive decided to throw in £200 and upgrade my hard disk drives I currently have 120gig W&D Caviar IDE and 1 Maxtor 80gig – file drive. So 200gig total 

I’ve never used SATA before (shock horror) so any info would be handy.

My motherboard is an Asus A8R32 – MPV Deluxe
Specification:http://uk.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=15&l3=268&model=1042&modelmenu=2

Thanks in advanced

How much more space do you need?

If you want to go as far as 500Gb then the WD AAKS drives are the fasest you can get, the Seagate 7200.10s are a fraction slower but available from 200Gb to 750Gb.

Alternatively the Hitachi 7K1000 1Tb drives should be available soon but expect to pay £300+ for the privilege.

if i was looking at spending £200 on hdd id get 2 of these
someone else has already said these but there really good drives and quiet.. briliant in sataII raid 0 aswell (althought u could mirror if keeping data safe is more important than speed)

Erm where did you read that, all of the reviews and tests i have read on a lot of forums say the seagate is a lot faster in fact the only faster desktop drive was the raptor x150, the seagate has perpenticular recording.
so sory i would have to dissagree, the seagate is faster

Think you'll find that if you search (a few weeks back) for the aaks drives they turn out faster than the .10's by a slight margin, was a thread when they were on "this week only"
