Spec me thread number 908549389 :D

as many others are, im after a new PC.

i defo want Core 2 Duo but don't know which flavour to get!

I currently have and will keep my current:
Monitor
Keyboard/Mouse/Speakers,
Hard drives (2 Sata, 2 IDE)
Case (CoolerMaster Black Widow  ), or do i get a new case?
PSU (Enermax EG651P-VE 550W) - Will this be ok?
DVDRW, Floppy

so i will need, cpu, mobo, memory and GFX card.

I intend to Overclock and want 3.0Ghz +

Im not a pc gamer by any means so i don't need the best gfx, something cheap and cheerful that will do will be fine :) worst thing is, i have a ATi X800 XT AGP and it does me fine, its a shame these new decent mobos are not agp :(

Pc will be used for multimedia, encoding, surfing and showing off to mates about its speed :p

So let rip guys!

Thanks

EDIT: DAmn, i knew i would miss something out! i don't have a budget as such, i want something good value for money, what you guys suggest £300 ?

Comes to a bit over £300 I think, you might have to kiss goodbye to your IDE disks due to lack of multiple IDE ports on the mobo, not sure.

As for the PSU, if it's atx 2.0 then yeah it'll be fine, if not then add that in.

That's pretty much the cheapest you can go without really seriously skimping and the 3d card is really not meant for games at all.

Also, you *could* go for 1gb RAM which would almost keep you within budget.

£300 is tight. 2GB ram is a must if you game, not sure about the GFX card you could maybe take the one out your current PC if its PCI-E i would go for a after market cooler aswell. Posibally a AC7 with AS5 or a Tuniq/scythe ninja. DS3 are good boards, with that combo you will see atleast 3Ghz+ with good cooling.
