Spec Me Please

I fear my AMD 64 3400+ hasnt got too long left, so i want to upgrade, limit is £400

i only need Processor, Mobo n RAM, im a hard core gamer, so it MUST be able to run the latest games on full gfx

ill only be getting a cheapo display card for starters ill be saving up for a 8800GTX or anything better if theres anything around.

so far looked at the AMD 6600 Black Edition 3.2, but if theres anything better in my price range then llet me know. oh and it MUST be very quiet, i leave my computer on overnight enconding n stuff.

if ** not oc'in then maybe amd is a possibility, but if u r then deffo intel.

The following is what I would pick for your budget. If you wanted to reduce the price then you could drop the IP35 Pro and get a P35-DS3P and save yourself about £45, other than that this spec is the best components for your price whilst keeping under budget. Also the RAM is on "This Week Only" offer and it will end Thursday coming so if you plan to order before that time then it's okay, but if you order after that then the price of the RAM will return to it's normal value.

This i like, thank you , how quiet will it be? quiet is very important, i struggle to sleep as it is and my AMD 3400+ is a very noisy machine. and the Intel is 64-Bit isnt it? as i have 64Bit vista home premium, and i dont fancy changing it since i paid for it not long ago.

same as what i have got and its perfect little pricey but you get a lot of mobo 4 that money the cpu is excellent i used to have a amd 4800x2 and this wipes the floor with it in games and in o/s im getting on average a 30-40% increase in fps in css etc
