Around £600 - £700 to spend, want a good overclocking DDR2 based board, minimum 2GB ram, preferably 4gb or even 8GB if possible, 8800GT card will be fine, doesn't matter if the cpu is slower as I will have more cash to upgrade it in a few months but would like a good cooler for a decent overclock. Needs vista home premium and if possible a decent quiet case/psu. Hard drive wise...anything 250GB and over is fine, not bothered about a raid setup. Optical drive wise just a basic dvd burner will do. Happy with onboard sound and network.

I can spend up to £700 but would like to spend as least as possible right now. Anything spare will go towards getting a 19/20inch tft.

Thanks!

for the case ,you need to pick your own or at least a give a few possible choices as i have no idea what may appeal to you.

if you can afford it on top of the cost of a case, you could get a wolfdale or a quad core now.

i picked pc2-8000 RAM incase a wolfdale or yorkfield CPU is wanted in the future, i think the spec is quite futureproof (for you) until intel changes socket or you do
