i have a new 500 pound budget that i have saved over christmas ect.

i need a complete system spec apart from the following:
>HDD (320gb samsung F1)
> Optical Drive
>PSU (700w Coolermaster)
> 26inch HDTV
> win7 64bit

will be used mainly for gaming and video editing

i also prefer to have a full tower case such as the HAF 932, but is their a better/cheaper full tower out there ?

thanks 4 your help

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail - £128.99
Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard - £107.99
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770 Vapor-X 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-E - £138.99
OCZ Obsidian 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 Dual Channel - £85.99
Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Rev. C CPU Cooler - £39.99
Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black - £40.98

£542.93

I went a bit over as i forgot the case at 1st then again for a decent full tower case you can pay 2 - 3 times the price of the Antec 300. my adivce would be to add an extra £100 to your budget then you should be able to have the above with the likes of a HAF :)

great spec thnx

what sort of performance can i expect from the 5770? compared to my 4850 (sold now).
and also is phenom the way to go, is it better compared to core i5?

The 5700 is a good performer, handles all the games i throw at it without a breaking sweat. It's also runs cooler and uses less power. but regardless of that it is still classed as a budget card so if you wanted more performance at higher resolutions then the likes of the 5850 at around the £230 mark would be the choice but i have had a 5770 now for around 2 months and its been faultless, and if i want i can crossfire it. good solid card at a great price.

As for the phenom the same goes there, i couldn't decide whether to go for an i5 or Phenom x4 but after reading up on things and getting peoples views on it on forums like this there isn't that huge a gap between the two. Budget wise you are best going for the phenom as i had pretty much the same demands as you: games and video editing. and haven't looked back since but either one you would be happy with.
