Hello hoping someone can help me

My current pc is dated and is running like a bag of hammers so want to upgrade [currently barton2800, 1gig pc2700, 6800gs in a raidmax sagitta case which makes your ears bleed its that loud running xp]

I use my pc mainly for net use so dont need much in the way of graphics
Things i am mainly looking for is a quick quiet pc with a lot of storage

I have around £500 to spend and would like to work around the AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz if possible
Need tower including [quiet case] and os.

If iv missed anything please let me know any help appreciated

If you are using the PC for the NET, you would be better off buying a Laptop and hooking up a 22" or 24" TFT monitor to it. Not only will it be almost silent but you will be able to add external USB2 storage drives and sound seal them in a padded case for even more silence.

I picked up a 15.4" Toshiba Dualcore 1.73 Ghz Laptop with 2MB of ram for £280 14 months ago.

And oh, you won't need to buy an operating system either as it will be pre-installed. Jusy create a backup "Installation Disk" on to a pair of DVD disks so if you need to re-install you can safely do that.

You could save some pennies by ditching the graphics card if your current one is PCI-E or go for the H55 motherboards which have inbuilt graphics and are fairly cheap.
