Hey guys.

Thinking of going along the lines of water cooling, but wondering exactly how much rad size I would need?

I have enough space in my case (zalman z9plus) for a 240 rad (with a bit of work) and a 120 rad. Possibly an additional 120 also?

Looking to cool an i5 2500k and a hd7970 (possibly another down the road)

Would someone be able to spec me up a setup? As cheap as possible, but must be up to the job though.

What would I need for the CPU and one gfx card? Also if I was to add another?

Is it best to have anything on separate loops?

Cheers

You'd ideally want a 360/120+240.

Easier to have one loop, but cheap really isn't the way to go, you'll be looking at the thick end of 300-350 for that lot.

Nah, I know it's not going to be cheap as such - don't get me wrong.

My max option for rads in current case would be a 240 + 120 + 120.

Would that be sufficient?

YOUR BASKET
1 x XSPC EX240 120mm Radiator - Black £39.98
1 x EK Supreme LTX CPU Waterblock - Nickel Plexi £32.99
1 x XSPC EX120 120mm Radiator - Black £29.99
1 x EK DCP 2.2 Pump (12v) £29.99
1 x EK Reservoir Combo DCP 4.0 £24.98
2 x Mayhems Ultra Pure H20 Watercooling Fluid 1L £4.68 (£9.36)
1 x Silver Anti Algae Kill Coil - Pulse £3.98
3 x Masterkleer Tubing PVC 16/10mm (3/8ID) Clear £3.98 (£11.94)
10 x EK PSC Compression Fitting 7/16 [16/12mm] - G1/4 - Black £3.50 (£35.00)
Total : £230.87 (includes shipping : £10.50).

Then just add your fans and gpu block.
If you want to add a colour instead of clear coolant, remove the kill coil and other coolant then add a Mayhems X1 Range Colour.

3 rads and 3 blocks (possibly) on a 2.2 pump?!

Not something I would personally do.

You need 2 kill coils. and the guy can afford a 7970, skimping on watercooling would ruin it! :p

Cheers for the input guys! Thinking of changing cases now tbh. Either a cm690 ii or the Ximatech Elysium.

I'm gonna have a good look at my case later and see how viable it would be.

I can afford a 7970, yes... But still open to a cheaper but viable option! ;)

:D
Elysium is one of the best watercooling cases around

Ooops I did mean to put a 4.4 on there.

DDC really
