Me and a few friends are fed up with the pathetic amount of snow we have, and want to go and find some proper deep stuff, just to muck about in and actually get a feel for winter. :p

We're in Preston, north west. We were going to go to Scotland, but is there anywhere closer that is still relatively accessible, and had some good, deep snow?

:) Cheers!

Ummm, there is one flaw in your plan, if you want to go see snow, you must first travel through it.

Your only and best bet is a train to somewhere with lots of snow.

Or, pop down to your local Iceland and mess around in the freezers?

most trains are suspended because of the snow, best get yourself a magic carpet, should work wonders :) but ye, north east was easily hit by far the worst so far this year :p

Cheers guys.

Really want to go to the Cairngorms, but work doesn't allow.

This is going to be a night time expedition, as I'm work 10-7 every day for the next two weeks! :eek:

My work carpark in Sheffield yesterday;

There is more in Mansfield / Chesterfield area too.

Just keep going North until the car gets stuck! (If you do plan to travel somewhere with more snow, remember the motorways may be rather slow).

Cheers again, will head oop norfff when I get some time off.

Apparently Burnley has quite a bit, so will head up there and also take the missus for some nice food to get me back in her good books, after a 'snow incident' and other silly things, mostly due to Relentless and alcohol, not at the same time. :p
