Spec me some free image editing software.

A while back someone posted a link to an excellent online editor that worked similar to Photoshop.
My administrator uses it instead of Paint.Net but I won't see him until tomorrow.
 
Erm, it looks NOTHING like photoshop, not even the early incarnations.

Its not far off and everybody in my office can use it after using Photoshop at home (perhaps illegaly)

frankly, i found G.I.M.P. to be ridiculously unusable. i mean, what kind of image editing program can't even draw an Arrow? that, among many other problems caused me to switch to:

Paint.NET, which i've found to be excellent. honestly, i've had no problems with it at all.
 
For what you want to do GIMP is way over the top. Get IrfanView, great little program for just this sort of job :)

+1 to Infanview. Plus, it is portable (meaning that you can run it off a stick). Make sure you install the extras though because you can perform basic actions losslessly on JPEG files.
