Spec me some Gaming Headphones

I just did some more research and it seems that others recommend 5.1 gaming headsets over stereo.. I have been told that those headphones (mentioned above) would be better for music/movies but not so good for gaming due to the lack of drivers..

mmm.. oh and also, apparently they come with a larger jack?

Wouldn't something like this suit my style slightly more? Slightly overbudget but would rather pay more for quality.
These are not the headphones you are looking for. ;)

I fell for them, I returned them on the same day they were so poor.

Stick with the 555's + usb mic. Audiophile or not, they beat the crap out any gimmicky '5.1' headphones.

I would get SteelSound 5H, amazing set of headphones, perfect for CSS. Mic is flawless too.

If not those then HD555.

Nope, waste of money for a name and some fancy glowing lights. You would be paying more for less quality. Stick with stereo headphones, many people on here have been converted from gamer headsets and are very happy to have done this.

Have you actually tried that headset or are you just expressing your overall opinion on headsets?

So where does the Senny PC-350 sit in this debate, I realise it's slightly over budget, but is it a gamerset or closer to the HD555 with a mic attached ?

Good advice :p

What microphone do you advise? :D

Google "elara clip-on microphone"

£2.99

I use it, it picks up my voice loud and clear I have it clipped on the back of my monitor, can't even see it.:D

If you are going to be looking at £90+ get Sennheiser HD595's instead, they will be better than the PC-350's.

Heck the 555's produce better sound than the 350's.

I use Sennheiser HD595's with Dolby Headphone (5.1 audio over stereo) and it sounds much, much better and more like 5.1 than my old 5.1 headset did. (Speedlink Medusa, avoid like AIDS/the plague)

Not those specific razer ones, but have heard another set, and the steelsound plsu the icemats too.

Razer charge a horrific amount for their high end headsets and will never have the same quality in design and parts as real headphone manufacturers. They are just playing on gamers not knowing anything about sound and tricking them with clever marketing and nice lights.
