We're getting a extension in the next few months, and am kitting out my new room.

I currently have one of the White Samsung LE23's, and wanting a 32-42" LCD/Plasma to mount.

So i need;

DVD Player - BluRay/HD DVD (probably BluRay now eh? :p)
LCD/Plasma - 32-42"
HTPC - 500gb HDD

If possible, this kit has to come in at about £1-1.2k, but can stretch, if theres any other kit, like speakers etc.

So far im thinking of Samsung Bordeaux PS42Q97HDX 42" HD Freeview Plasma TV which is £680, that any good?

The HTPC so far specced is; X2 4200, OCZ 2GB, WD 500gb, Foxconn 6150M2MA, 2400Pro, Antec Fusion + KeySonic KB/Mouse.

Not sure on the DVD Player.

Any ideas?

Cheaper the better really.

Freeview is not really 100% needed as might get Sky Multiroom.

Cheaper the better overall is better to be honest, as i can use the LE23 for HD Stuff, such as Sky HD.

Thanks for any input :).

ps3's can be picked up with a couple of games for £299 they can be had cheaper if you look around

you will still need a hd tv to view hd pictures like bluray

Whats better to mount? Will most likely be used with Sky, Xbox360, PC input and if i get the PS3, the PS3 and perhaps other stuff, DVD etc. Looking for 42", and seen good prices on plasma's.

What am i missing something here?

Stick a Blu-Ray drive in the HTPC and get an AMD 780G motherboard (no need for a discrete graphics card) to do all the decoding. The 780G comes with an IGP that has full UVD with cpu offload of the h264 and vc1 decoding.... and it is class quite frankly.
Cheaper and just as flexible as the HTPC + PS3 combo.
