Hi all.

I have an xbox 360, that I never use. I have a bunch of 1 on 1 beat me ups, which I enjoy, but am rubbish at.

I've never been a huge gamer, but recently played some pc indie games that have been great.

Gaming on the pc is a bit tricky lately, so I thought it see what 360 games of old are worth playing...

I've been of the opinion that first person shooters are better on my pc, with a mouse, and that 3rd person games always have the main character "in the way"

I seem to be the only one who thinks like this, so I must be wrong.

So I'm open to suggestions guys, older the better, so they are cheaper on eBay.

Not really interested in online multi player stuff.

Gears of war and mass effect seem popular, and can be had for a few quid each.

What else should I look for? Any must haves?

I'm a bit rubbish at games, so nothing too hard, or too complicated, but something with a good story.

Cheers

Red dead redemption is a slower paced game set in the wild west with a good atmosphere/ssetting, characters and story. You'll need a bit of time to get through it though!

Curveball option would be Bully ('Canis Candem Edit' or something) set in a school. Its pretty fun!

For racing games- Need for Speed Hot Persuit is a good arcade racer. Forza 4 is the best simulation racer.

The first Bioshock if you haven't played it.
Even by today's standards it still looks amazing, has a great story and is probably in my top 3 games of all time.

Bioshock 2 is also worth a punt as you can get it really cheap.

Prey is also a really good playthrough with a good story. It was one of the first games I purchased for the 360.

You can probably pick all three of those up on Ebay for a fiver. Money well spent!

Another vote for Red Dead Redemption aswell, imagine GTA but in the Wild West!

Orange box - Half life 2, HL2 ep1 and HL2 ep 2 as well as portal are worth playing.

Portal 2 - Good but not as good IMO as the one included in the orange box but longer.

Deus Ex - Brilliant game and many ways to play it.

Echo the above red dead and Bioshock too.

id add the original Condemned to the list, not sure how well it would have aged but it was the first 360 game that wowed me

I also loved Kameo for a simple easy puzzle platform game

if you want easy you could look into Oblivion or Skyrim and put them on an easy difficulty for a very cheap 100 hour romp

Bulletstorm. Hands down one of my all time favourite games, just hilarious cheesy mindless violence with a Tony Hawk-ish scoring system for glamorous kills. Get it.

Thanks guys

Ive played all the half life games on the PC (they are my favourite) as well as both portal games, Bioshock, and a bit of Bioshock 2, couldn't get on with it for some reason.
I played Prey years ago... loved that game!

so far, ive ordered:

Devil may Cry "HD" - seems like its a re-vamp of the first one for the 360
Assassins Creed - the first one.
Gears of War - the first one.

all in, £4.60 plus 3.78 postage.... bargain.

may also get need for speed hot pursuit as it seems like good fun, and is less than a fiver. might keep my eye out for GRID 2 as I loved the first one of the PC (though I was hopeless at it on anything other than easy)

also thought about dead space, but that's available for the PC, and also maybe the reboot of tomb raider. I don't mind taking a gamble at these prices.

Thanks again

I only played 360 for approx the first half of its life, but my favourite game was definitely the first Dead Rising - it's actually my favourite game of the past 10 years.

It is, despite appearances, a pretty hardcore game, so might not be suitable for OP.

Fallout 3, and Mass Effect were fairly good too, and certainly a more forgiving experience.
