Hi all,

Current spec listed in my signature. I built the system around three years ago now, and the only change I've made was adding the 1070 in late 2016.

I'm looking to ensure this is future proof for high-end gaming, as I like to play on max settings, so would really appreciate any feedback at all.

Nothing wrong with what you have really. Overclock the 4670k if it isn't already oe maybe drop in a 4790k. If you build a new pc now you are going to get stung due to the disgraceful price of DDR4. AMD will be launching their new cpu's soon as well so it would be better to wait and see how they perform. You never know, retailers may have actually passed on some savings due to the exchange rate being almost back to where it was before the brexit vote by then. They were quick enough to raise the prices after all.

As above for now drop in a 4790k and clock it. Will do you for some time. Will be able to cover a fair part of the cost selling the i5 too.

You could do with more RAM. And a bigger SSD. Which monitor do you have?

I'm purchasing a G-Sync monitor soon, as me current monitor has served it's purpose. Any tips on what Ram & SSD to look at?

Would I need to replace my mobo to make the jump to an i7?

Appreciate the feedback all.

Your motherboard will be fine for an i7 and also will fit another 8gb kit but try to get another kit identical to what you have already.
