It would also be useful to find a store where the can "measure" you feet and running motion to determine things like pronation/ supination. ALTHOUGH... some companys have this kind of equipment as more of a sales gimik - in short (as mentioned above) its worthless nonsense unless the operator knows what they are talking about. (I was trained on one of the early pressure pad systems and have an A Level in Physical Education - which does help when it comes to exercise Physiology and Bio-mechanics.
I used to run at county and regional level a good while ago and I worked for these guys long before they had a website:

/casting lvl 8 resurrection on this thread! :O also hoping to get some wisdom from you all. So please help me!

OK that's enough of the geek in me. I've been going to the gym last 2 years and getting fit. Started running about a year ago. I bought a pair of New Balance Stability 859's on recommendation of a running shop.
They've been great but now they've failed and i need a new pair. So i decided to dig around online for the perfect shoe. Using the not perfect science of the wet foot test, im normalish.
I am definitely Supination / Underpronator. All my boots / shoes wear on the outside of the foot more and mainly toward the heal. Which makes sense as my NewBalance's failed on the outside of the shoe. (to the point where it hurts to run / spin on the bike around the outside of my right foot)
Now my question is this: I am a heavy guy 95kg. Yet i also am an Underpronator. Should i still be going for the stability type of shoe?
As i understand it the stability will help me as I am heavy but they are also designed to stop Overpronating. For the underpronating i should get a neutral shoe... But then the shoe will probably fail faster as im a heavy guy pounding the treadmill.
What do you guys think?
