Spec me some socks!

Any hikers or walkers here?

I need some decent socks for wearing with boots.

I expect to be wearing them for a long time and to be soaking wet, so they should be good at preventing blisters.

Any suggestions please? they all look the same to me.

I'm no hiker, but I was given a top tip once: wear a thin pair of socks under a thick pair of socks when out walking. That way your outer socks rub against your inner socks rather than your baby-soft lady-flesh. I wonder if it works.

^ I heard that's a very bad thing to do.

SmartWool have very decent stuff. I have some 'Light' ones for skiing and didn't cause any problems.
