Having completed R6:Vegas 1&2 over the weekend, I have come to the conclusion that I like FPS games where you are supported by AI teammates. It really helps to add the atmosphere and flow of the game.

So what I need are some suggestions - I've already completed the following:

CoD series
MoH series
BiA:TRTH30
SW:RC
R6:V 1&2
Unreal 2

Generally speaking I prefer run-and-gun style to overly tactical affairs. On-the-fly, simple team orders (such as those in Vegas, RC and MoH:PA) are highly desirable though.

Wasn't really a fan of the first BiA game which is why I never bothered with the sequel - the whole thing seemed incredibly repetitive (pin and flank) with distinctly average combat/level design. I also got annoyed some some of the lame 'channelling' it did whereby they set up a 100% accurate/deadly MG42 post or artillery shells to force you down another path or to use a specific tactic. I know rushing a MG42 nest is a bit suicidal, but this was ridiculous, you would be crawling along in the dirt, not taking a scratch, then as soon as you got within x distance you were automatically killed. Totally unrealistic.

Dude (said in an exaggerated yanky doda way)
No mention of BF2 Infantry only
You need to get yourself on a 64 man Infantry only server & try some serious squad based online play. These days squadding up is mandatory & teamwork is all that keeps you alive in the Frantic world of BF2IO
Nowt better than ganging up with 5 randoms & spending a good 2-3 hours raping & pillaging all the time laughing your **** off & sharing the gaming buzz.

In fact just writing this has made me want to play it again myself & i haven't for a few weeks so Thanks a Million

Cant belive no1 mentioned ghost recon and earlier rainbow six games, if you find them too tactical turn the dificulty down tho wouldnt recomend that ;)
Didnt you have some1 along you in Vietcong too?
Not played Swat 4 as i only had laptop back then but my mate loved it.

Oh and unreal tournaments single player. :D

If you're happy to go pretty far back, then what about Hidden and Dangerous?

* EDIT just read you last sentence, scratch H & D :p

Republic Commando is a great game though :)

Slightly off the wall suggestion - ArmA. Yes it's quite a tactical shooter, but can b dumbed down and the number of missions available for download make it practically open ended. :)

It also runs well without crashes now that machines have a bit of horsepower too. :)

SWAT 4 was good but onnoying as everytime i shot someone it went down as an 'unauthorised use of leathal force' (even if they shot at me first) grr yet it was perfectly ok for my ai teammates to shoot em dead (before the enemy even had chance to draw weapon

I'm not exactly a nationalist but every Brit should play Hidden and Dangerous 2.It was like a breath of fresh air for me not to have a yank in your ear the whole time.It is squad based and I at least found it very absorbing.Bit old now so the graphics are not all that, also it needs patching,as it was a touch buggy, via an auto patcher in its file in program files.

Dont bother with real guns, equip everyone with a beanbag shotgun and shoot everyone into submission, badguys, hostages, teamates everyone gets shot until they comply to your wishes :D
