Need to get some new tyres for my 2.0 TDI Passat [215/55/R16] and have been looking at Falken's either the 452 or the 912.

My mate had the 452 on his Mondy TDCI ST and rated them, however the internet tends to suggest they are a performance tyre whereas the 912 is more motorway cruising.

So curious to see what peoples thoughts are on these or on others around the same price bracket.

Cheers

So would you like to performance drive or motorway cruise then?
:)

The 452 is a mid range performance tyre ("budget performance" is you believe the marketing speak). The 912 is a "touring" tyre, which as far as i can see means it'll last a bit longer, is suited for more motorway conditions, but isn't very grippy at all.

I wouldn't get either.

What's your budget? The people of OcUK motors will be able to find you the best tyre for your money.

Falken is a dirty word on here :p

It really isn't.

It's the pretence that most Falken 452 owners have, that they have got some Eagle F1/CSC5 rivalling tyre for half of the price, when we all know that this just isn't the case.

I am needing tyres in that size next month too, and can't decide to go for te premium contact 5s or the dunlops that Dr Who has pointed out!
