Let me set the scene:

Every few months, i get bored of the music in my car and end up completely changing the genre i listen to. It normally changes from DnB to Dubstep to Hardcore to General Chart.

A fortnight ago, i was at Global Gathering. Wandering around after getting split up from my mates i ended up getting talking to group of girls that were wondering where Rusko was playing. Went to see him for a bit with full intentions on going to see Underworld when they came on. One of the lasses came with me and we went to what i thought was the underworld tent, it wasn't, we stayed for a bit anyways as the atmosphere and music both seemed to be really good. We ended up staying for the entire set and had an amazing time. As soon as i got home, i got hold of their album and can't stop listening to it, it's fantastic!

As it seems that i've now found a new genre of music that i've never really paid much attention to, i'm looking for some suggestions of artists that are very similar to A&B please :)

Check out Above & Beyond's podcast on iTunes. It's a weekly 2 hour show that has all the latest releases, they also have track onfo on thier website. The show is called Trance Around the World.

Check out the Armin Van Buuren compilations, lots of similar stuff to A&B.

A State of Trance Yearmix 2008 is one of my favourites.

Edit: Also subscribe to MrSuicideSheep on Youtube, he posts a lot of that sort of stuff.

kr00t0n - Full Bloom
kr00t0n - Winters Approach
kr00t0n - Crystal Clear
kr00t0n - Autumn Lights
kr00t0n - Warm Horizons

Those should tide you over for a while, I have impeccable taste in trance ;)

Other good free podcasts are:
Aly and fila future sound of Egypt
Markus Schulz - Global DJ Broadcast
John Digweed - Transitions

Check out Oceanlab as well which is basically a pseudonym for A&B.
Ignoring names already mentioned, Ferry Corsten/System F might be an alternative

You should definitely try above and beyond worldwide album, that is amazing.

Then check out people like ARTY, Daniel Kandy, Super8 and Tab.

Some good albums released in 2011:

Tritonal - Piercing The Quiet
Paul Oakenfold - Never Mind The ********
A State Of Trance 500 (5xCD)
Markus Schulz pres Dakota - Thoughts Become Things II
Orjan Nilsen - In My Opinion
Prague 11 (Mixed By Markus Schulz)
DJ Eco - M(You)sic

Myon and Shayne 54 do weekly podcast International Departures which is great (they do amazing end of year mashups!)
Armin van Burren - State of Trance is the daddy!

I wouldn't bother buying music at the moment, have a listen to the podcasts and find out what artists you like.

I'm well into BT's stuff at the moment and Markus Schulz.

Looks like i've got some serious downloading and listening to do :D Thanks guys!

Just wish I'd have spent more time in the Group Therapy and Godskitchen tents at global now!

Well you can get torrents of Armin van Burren's radio shows batched in 100 episode zip files which saves time!

If you find you like progressive stuff (A&B are pretty big into it) then Myon & Shane 54 would be my first choice.

I also have Jaytech on my podcast list but have to be in the mood for his style.
