Spec me SSD please

I am looking at a 64gb c300 at the moment. Is this a flawed choice. What is the forum favourite at the moment? I want bang for buck rather than getting top of the line stuff.

c300 or vertex 2e are best choices atm. Although vertex 3 will be out in Q2 and offer a very large increase in performance so might be worth waiting, unless ofc you can get one now, and then get another one then and just put the vertex 2e in an older system

Vertex 2e is deffo better on a sata2 controller than a c300 imo, but thye are both awesome drives, think theres a c300 going in the MM atm too.

I only have a m4a79 xtd evo mobo, so I dont think I get any benefit from sata 2 do i?

you have sata 3.0gbps ports, so sata II. I mentioned it as the C300 has a faster read speed than the vertex 2e when running on a sata 6Gbps controller, but when on a sata 3gbps controller it is about the same. So if your not going to upgrade your mobo for a year plus, get the vertex 2e

if you dont mind me asking, why is it that the ocz is better/more suited to my needs?

edit- my aim is to maximise game playing and general computer usage. No special photoshop needs etc

They both have similar 4k IOPS and similar read speeds on a SATA II interface, the OCZ hs much better write speeds though, they cost similar etc. Everyone recommends either one of them, but if its on a SATA II interface you wont see any of the increade read speed from the crucial. Not that OS/games benefit from sustained read/write speeds but meh.

Both are very good, and you will be happy with either, I just think the vertex is better for you, not by much though so if you want to save a tenner get the c300
