A game with large open maps that benefit a good sniper. :)

Love sniping but games like COD rarely have opportunities to get a good vantage point.

Any ideas?
 
Borderlands (maybe not)?

MAG (seems to meet your criteria, although your team will probably hate you for it) :)
 
The original Delta Force for the PC :D

Battlefield Bad Company 2 looks decent, should be vast enough for snipers.

Have you tried the ACOG scope btw? Im much quicker with it i find.

I'd love to see a nice sniper game come out, The Sniper mission on Call of Duty 4 was one of the most awesome missions I've played in First Person Shooter games. Someone needs to realise how amazing it would be to release a nice new Sniper game.
 
I was in the BC2 beta but the sniping felt a little off. KZ2 has had the best sniping for me so far on consoles. (Just from the games I've played)


COD's sniping is spot on, but MW2 lacks sniping opportunities that are adequately protected or hidden.
 
Nothing on consoles right now, Battlefield 2 on PC.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 looks amazing for this when it comes out though.

Sniping in MW is the worst ever due to killcam and tiny maps :(
 
I had a blast on Bad Company 1 last week. I kept sniping and laser missiling the tanks as they rolled past me. The enemy were quite oblivious even though I was perched on a small rock right next to where they were running past.

COD's sniping is terrible IMO no bullet drop or having to lead targets makes it incredibly boring point and click affair.
