Spec me

My other suggestion to myself is.. Buy all but the gfx card now and just have it running on intergrated (until payday) so i can spend more on components and then i have my free shipping in 14 days also.. Just i gotta buy a new car soon also *rolls eyes*

You could use the finance option, one condition be 100% sure to pay in full at the end of the 6 months so you don't incur any interest.

i3 2120? It would knock £70 odd quid off the build, and you could upgrade later? Once ivy comes out some people will be offloading their i5 2500's

Does save a nice chunk of £££

Slightly over but that's what i would buy.

That 460 is overclocked to 867mhz i have the SC version which i've OC to 900. The PSU is a good budget option which has enough juice to run two 460s. The mobo will SLI or Xfire properly although I wouldn't suggest adding the extra card till much later when you can find one cheap cheap (like the budgie).

Case comes with 4 fans a fan controller with a digital temp display and cable management, if you are overclocking the i5K the improved air flow will help keep temps down.

Good luck with the build, any further questions or problems you know where we are

Being 192bit it can only be SLI'd with itself, so trying to find another 192bit 1GB GTX460 could be difficult:)

Fair point. Still an excellent budget gaming card for the cash though.

As i said i have the SC version which is 256bit memory, trouble is the price of that card is too near the 6870 to make it attractive....unless the cuda support swings it. The 6850 is still a cheaper viable option that could be dual carded later if cuda isnt wanted/needed.

The 7800 series cards are expected soon (they have a place on the webpage after all). The OP could well ommit the GPU then add whatever he wanted to later to get the best bang for buck.

Although i must stress if you opt for a SLI/xfire mobo you really need a PSU that will have enough juice to run a second GPU of your choosing. Be silly to buy another PSU and GPU together....that defeats the object of trying to double your performance on a budget.

Have a look at my spec in post#14, thats a Crossfire ready 6850 setup:)

The 7800 are due around the 23rd I think.

Just flicked back to look at it. In truth we have used very similar parts as we are making use of the offers on at the mo.

I do think that zalman case is worth the extra cash. If overclocking is going to be done that is. With a non K intel CPU I may well have opted for a cheaper case too.

Wether the OP want's to have a dual card capable rig or concentrate on just running a single card setup is only a call he can make....hopefully we are helping more than hindering him lol

p.s hey beej :)

Another (Not so smart but maybe smart) brainwave

Im going to wait until ivy and get a chip second hand, But im going to order the following now

Case, PSU, SSD, and a new Cpu cooler..

The cpu cooler MUST work with both AMD and Intel though as i currently have an AMD setup. And also must mount 360 degrees directions on both. I hear the gelid does this?

Case wise i was thinking the bitfenix shinobi or the Coolermaster CM-690 Either lite or the white and black advanced..

Psu please recommend me one for a single card setup as i have decided on single only now.

CPU cooler ( Gelid i think )

SSD??? M4 ?
